Utah's Dentist Workforce

The Utah Medical Education Council (UMEC) has traditionally produced two forms of publications - workforce profiles and workforce reports. The workforce profiles are compiled using data available from various sources, while the workforce reports are compiled using survey data collected by the UMEC.

The UMEC has published a profile of Utah's dentist workforce in December, 2002. This profile served as the single source of dentist workforce reference in Utah so far.

The 2006 Utah Dentist Workforce Report is available for the public, and can be downloaded from the link below. The latest report includes interesting patterns and trends of the Utah dentist workforce - retirement trends and pre-retirement reduction in number of practice hours, Medicaid patient acceptance among Utah dentists etc.
