UMEC Standing Committees
The UMEC achieves the demonstration project's goals and objectives through its working committees. These committees are made up of interested parties who are closely involved in each study and report the Council generates. Each committee member is responsible for the study - scope, key issues, data driven conclusions and recommendations. Committees with an ongoing responsibility are called Standing Committees. Currently there are three of these:
- The Physician Implementation Advisory Committee (PIAC)
- The Finance Advisory Committee and
- The Rural GME Advisory Committee
Committees with a limited scope of work are called study or adhoc committees. Study committees are created to advise the UMEC on a specific health professional studies. These committees are dissolved once the study is completed and the results are published - typically a two to three year period.
