4^th Physician Job Fair

The 4^th Annual Physician Job Fair was held on September 8, 2010 in the Varsity Room of the Rice Eccles Stadium, located on the University of Utah campus. The job fair was attended by 43 residents/interns. Exhibitors/employers included Ashley Regional Medical Center, Associates for Inpatient Medicine, LLC, Association for Utah Community Health (AUCH), Beaver Valley Healthcare Services, Castleview Hospital, Central Utah Clinic, Central Valley Medical Center, CopperView Medical Center, Emergency Physicians Integrated Care, LLC, Granger Medical Clinic, HCA Healthcare, IASIS Healthcare, Intermountain Healthcare, Ogden Clinic, Tanner Clinic, Uintah Basin Medical Center, University of Utah School of Medicine Alumni Association, Utah Army National Guard, Utah Center for Rural Health, Utah Department of Health - Office of Primary Care and Rural Health, Utah Hospital Association, and the Utah Medical Association. 

2^nd Physician Job Fair & 1^st Advanced Practice Job Fair

The Utah Medical Education Council (UMEC) would like to thank all of the sponsors and exhibitors that were at both the Advanced Practice and Physician Job Fairs on September 25, 2008. Both fairs were successful in providing opportunities for those with jobs to meet and pursue those who can fill those jobs. The UMEC will sponsor another Advanced Practice Job Fair in March or April 2009 and a Physician Job Fair in August 2009.

The exit surveys of attendees from the Advanced Practice Job Fair were almost universal in saying that they were able to find at least one and often many jobs they could pursue. The exit surveys of attendees from the Physician Job Fair echoed the Advanced Practice response that they identified at least one and often many practice opportunities. The exhibitors at both fairs were also able to identify many who they can pursue to fill open needs at their orgainizations.

We believe both fairs were successful in providing a venue where those with job openings can meet and pursue those who can fill those opportunities. The UMEC will continue to sponsor this fairs in the future to help keep medical providors in Utah to practice.

1^st Physician Job Fair

UMEC conducted the first physician job fair for physicians being trained in Utah in January, 2008. This first fair was a big success following which, the UMEC Board decided to make this an annual event. In addition, the UMEC Board also decided to organize an annual job fair for advanced practice providers, Physician Assistant and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetiest, Certified Nurse Specialist) workforce.
