UMEC Adhoc Committees
The UMEC achieves the demonstration project's goals and objectives through its working committees. These committees are made up of interested parties who are closely involved in each study and report the Council generates. Each committee member is responsible for the study - scope, key issues, data driven conclusions and recommendations. Committees with an ongoing responsibility are called Standing Committees. There are three of these.
Committees with a limited scope of work are called study or adhoc committees. Adhoc committees are created to advise the UMEC on a specific health professional studies. These committees are dissolved once the study is completed and the results are published - typically a two to three year period. So far, there have been 14 adhoc committees.
Currently, the Physician Assistant Workforce Report Advisory Committee is active. The Physician Implementation Advisory Committee, a UMEC standing committee is also taking the role as an adhoc committee for the upcoming physician workforce study.
